Increase app engagement by segmenting your users based on actions and serving them personalized in-app push notifications, emails, sms/mms, etc. Details:
The App Guy recently interviewed Pyze, a company that automatically segments app's user bases and gives you the ability to start interacting with each group of users in a meaningful way.
Once your app starts to have a sizable user base, it's important to start categorizing those users into different groups. There might be loyal users, dormant users, users that are at risk of attrition, etc. Start grouping these users into meaningful categories and set respective business objectives for each user group. Then define different user journeys for each of them and push those users towards that objective.
For example. someone who is really loyal but has never bought something - might be grouped as an under-monetized user. Then you can institute a push in-app MMS campaign to drive them towards purchasing something. Similarly, someone who's a dormant user, might be sent a push notification to remind him why they downloaded the app in the first place. Source: theappguy.co
